Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimate construction, service and piping jobs
- Perform job take-offs using rolling scale and/or Bluebeam Software
- Assist with procuring materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Track status of bidding.
- Estimate Mechanical Equipment, subcontractors, and materials.
- Provide a typed scope for proposal and review with Project Managers prior to proposal being sent to the client.
- Help procure equipment for each awarded project.
- Provide and enter a full purchase order to vendors for equipment and material for awarded projects.
- Help negotiate final “Buy Numbers” prior to purchase of equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Provide and enter full subcontract purchase order to subcontractors.
- Obtain initial Ship dates for all equipment and materials from AHV or Subcontractors.
- Budgeting and Design on an Estimating Basis Only for Concept Design Pricing (Cradle to Grave).
- Work directly with Engineering and Coordinate with Cad department on collisions and coordination.
- Value Engineering ideas for projects that may be over budget.
- Coordinate communication among all those in estimating department, clients, field and project managers.
- Facilitate job turnover meeting with Project Manager and other internal stakeholders of a successful project.
- Stay current on business trends, making recommendations.
- Prepare and track purchase orders and packing slips for material, equipment and subs.
- Assist with managing project related paperwork ensuring all necessary materials are current and properly filed.
- Assist with project correspondences
- Update project estimates at the request of project managers.
- Assist with managing projects ensuring gross profit expectations are met while provide superb customer service.
- Follow up with Accounting to verify that the certificate of insurance has been processed prior to stepping on project (AHV and Subcontractors).
- Assist with procuring materials, equipment and subs for change orders.
- Provide Closeout documents at the end of a project for each of our projects and clients (As-Builts, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Testing and Balancing Reports, Warranty Letters, Startup Sheets, Commissioning Reports).
- Work with the Safety Director prior to any Unsafe or Potentially unsafe procedures of any work.
- Issue Change orders for any work requested outside of scope.
- Provide a detailed billing Schedule of values for billing purposes for Work in Process or month’s end billings.
- Work with Service Department for any service calls during the course of any project or for warranty work. (Please make note that new customers may contact AHV for service work as well and this individual will be required to work with our Service Account Manager and Dispatch to properly handle service calls).
- Organize and Develop Project Files – Archiving as well.
- Periodic Walk Thru time and Client Confrontations for meetings and Site inspections
- Working with Coordination of Field Foreman and Different Employee personnel (includes Shipping and Accounting).
- Value Engineering Ideas for projects that may be over budget.
- Coordinate PVM discussion with service sales manager.
- Attend job turnover meeting with estimator and other stakeholders.
- Provide Leadership and guidance for the Project Management Coordinators and Interns.
Qualifications, Competencies, & Abilities:
- Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Self-Motivated, with the ability to work with little or no supervision.

- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, engineering, finance or business from an accredited college or university a plus.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HVAC and piping.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $70,000
- Bonus and Profit Sharing up to 30% of base salary
